Can you dig it???

Our family has a ranch just outside of Austin, TX. When we bought the property in the early 70's, we learned that there was a pipeline that ran across the entire property, stretching close to 2 miles. The pipeline itself ran all the way from Houston to New Mexico! When mapping and plotting the land for a future house site last year, I contacted Shell Pipeline Company, to find out exactly where it was located, so we could plan to build around the pipeline. A terrific gentleman named Roland Lee from Shell came out and marked the line for us, He also mentioned that sometime in 2012, Shell would be hiring a company to come and remove the pipeline.
 
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, when I was meeting with the Shell Pipeline Company representative, Jon Meyer, and John McGary & Steven McNew from DKM Enterprises, LLC at the front gate of our ranch. I had told Mr. Meyer about an area that I was hoping he could keep preserved, as it provides a little bit of privacy for our house from the ranch entrance. He told me that I should point the area out to Mr. McGary & Mr. McNew and speak with them about any concerns I might have. Mr. McGary & Mr. McNew listened to my requests, and promised to adhere to them. Right away, I got a good feeling about having DKM working on our property.
 
I'll admit though, I was a little nervous when I saw lots of large equipment rolling onto our property to excavate miles of pipeline. I, understandably, had a few questions. Would they put the fences back up properly? Would they keep us informed of their timeline, so we could move our cattle accordingly, from one pasture to another? Would they leave the area they excavated in decent condition? I've heard horror stories of companies leaving behind a mess to clean up after they were done working. Turns out, I was just wasting my time worrying about anything at all! John and his incredible crew were the most respectful, professional, and genuinely nice people I've had the pleasure of meeting and working with. They had listened to everything I requested and did a better job than I could have imagined. Every fence was put back up better than they were before! John kept me informed of their progress the entire two days they were on my property. And the area where the pipe was buried is now the smoothest road on our property! They left everything in a BETTER condition than it was before they got there!!!
 
Right before they left, I told John McGary that if anyone ever had any concerns about DKM coming onto their property to do any work, that he should tell them to call or email me immediately - and I will assure them of the level of quality, professionalism, and respect they will be treated with. I want to thank Jon Meyer, Roland Lee, John McGary, Steven McNew, and everyone with DKM Enterprises and Shell Pipeline for all your hard work, the way in which you treated me (and my property) with the utmost respect, and for the professionalism you all hold. I couldn't be happier with your work! Thanks for all you have done. It won't ever be forgotten!
