Hello everyone and welcome to our blogsite...this is our first of many posts, so make sure you check back often to see what kind of work we are doing and what new things we have to share with you!

We decided that it would be a good idea to give you a little insight about why we got into the "business" of mapping and what it means to us, personally. You see, we don't just map other people's ranches on the computer and call it a day. We are outdoor enthusiasts, that love being in the field as much as possible. We started mapping our own property years ago...we figured while we are exploring the land, we might as well take notes and document what we find, right? We both loved the idea so much that we decided to eventually turn our hobby into a business. Do what you love, and its not really "work", you know?

To us, exploring the outdoors is one our biggest passions in life. As well as working in conjunction with various wildlife management programs on our own land, we are strong supporters of programs that strive to keep our wildlife and outdoors as pristine as possible, for future generations to enjoy and explore.

While working with Native American Elders, I have often heard the term "Seventh Generation" spoken of...many Indigenous people think in terms of the generations that are to come, and how the decisions we make TODAY will effect the lives of the future generations. The thought is simple: think about how everything you do will effect those seven generations down. If what you are doing today will benefit them, then it is useful...if not, maybe you should consider something else. Personally, I want to pass my family's property on through my future generations, so they can enjoy the love I share for the outdoors, wildlife, and exploring the unknown, and maybe even mapping!  :)

You don't need your own family property to explore the outside world...take a walk in a public park, a state park, around a lake, riverfront area, or even go into your own backyard! I am amazed at the wildlife that lives in my backyard and garden area...all you have to do is open your eyes and ears, and realize that you are connected to everything you see and hear! Once you find that to be true, the world awaits you. So, go explore! Go enjoy the outdoors! And if you have a passion for it like we do, try to do something to leave it better than when you came across it, for the future generations to enjoy too!
